Spiritual Values (#1-7)

1) Faith in God

We believe in a single, all-powerful, all-knowing, eternal God: the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

In God We Trust

The Motto of the United States of America

Opposing Secular View: God doesn’t exist. Religion and the super-national are rejected. Only human reasoning is embraced.

2) Universal Truth

God reveals unchanging truth via Holy Scripture (Bible/Tanakh). Morals are universal.

He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Deuteronomy 32:4 (KJV)

Opposing Secular View: Truth can change. Morals are relative.

3) God Created Everything

God created the universe and everything in it.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Genesis 1:1 (KJV)

Opposing Secular View: Everything came from nothing and/or evolved via natural causes.

4) Human Life is Sacred

God gives life. All human life is especially precious, even the unborn.

You shall not murder.

Exodus 20:13 (KJV)

Opposing Secular View: Society decides which life or lives matter. Only the fit survive.

5) Redemption from Sin

People are born with a sinful nature and need redemption.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Psalm 14:1 (KJV)

Opposing Secular View: People are inherently good, so generally what they want to do is not bad.

6) Accountability to God

The body dies but our soul (spirit) lives eternally. Souls will be judged by God according to His laws. God will reward the good and punish the wicked.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.

Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)

Opposing Secular View: Everything ends with death, so justice can only happen before death.

7 Spiritual Warfare

God allows spiritual battles between good and evil, but He ultimately wins the war.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

Opposing Secular View: There is no “spiritual world,” only a physical world.
