The solemn duty of the “free press” is to keep the power of the government and other large institutions in check and defend the freedom of the people. Unfortunately, we no longer have a free press because much of it has been taken over by, and is controlled by, the ruling elites. This means that most of the press now functions as a propaganda arm which promotes the big government agenda instead of working to limit it.
