The Anvóy Align Badge is a Performance Indicator that can help you or your organization improve and excel.

We have many such Performance Indicators in life.  Here are a few examples:

  • A compass
  • Car speedometer and odometer
  • School grade report
  • Medical blood tests
  • Job performance review
  • Business financial statements

We would be lost without these indicators.  We would not know how well (or how poorly) we were doing over time.  We wouldn’t know what to do (or not to do) in order to improve.  This type of timely feedback is essential to success.

How the Align Badge Works

The goal of the Anvóy platform (social network and integrated tools) is to empower individuals and organizations do even more good.   The Align Badge helps us improve by giving us objective performance feedback over time.  This feedback is summarized in the Badge, but this score is a combination of many separate indicators.  These indicators not only show us if we are doing better or worse over time, they also allow us to rank or compare our performance to others.  For example, a high rank of 95 would mean that our performance is better than 95% of others.  Whereas a low rank of 15% would be that 85% of other performed better.

You decide who you want to let see your Align Badge performance indicators.  You can keep them to yourself, share with your trusted connections, or make them public.  We encourage sharing them with others as this is a great way to encourage others to do the same.  We all need leaders who inspire us and there is much strength in numbers.  We are on a journey together and we to keep striving and helping each other all the way!

Most people will have a tendency to be shy about sharing their performance information, but there are many positive reasons to do so.  It can provide accountability and can inspire others as we stated above.  A good example of this is the 4 minute mile.  Many believed it couldn’t be done.  Many tried for decades and failed, but once someone ran the mile in 4 minutes, several other runners did the same within a year.  We shouldn’t be ashamed of numbers.  God loves them so much he wrote a book about them called “Numbers.”  God even has favorite numbers: 3, 7, 13, 40 and so on.

Rewarding People for Good Behavior

Align indicators are granted using the same standard process for all participants and therefore can be used to recognize people for their long term accomplishments.   They accumulate over time.  Every year the Align Badge amount (greater than 2) is added to the total number of indicators.

The Align Badge Number

The align number can range from 0 (lowest) to 12 (highest).  It is an average or summation of the performance indicators from the following anvóy products:

  1. Align Profile – complete a survey
  2. Activity Level – participation
  3. Affirm – declarations and confirmations
  4. Assets – # of connections and amount of IOU
  5. Another Voyage – mentoring / discipleship
  6. Alliance – Common defense pledge
  7. Alms – giving to good causes

Each participate will have a rank (from 0 to 100) for each of the above products.  This rank is based on their performance relative with other participants for that product.  To calculate the overall Align Badge value, we simply take the average rank times 12/100.

For example, let’s assume that “Frank” has the following performance ranks:

  1. Align Profile – 55
  2. Activity Level – 35
  3. Affirm – 60
  4. Assets – 40
  5. Another Voyage – 0
  6. Alliance – 25
  7. Alms – 70

His average rank is 41, so his Align Badge would be 53 * (12/100) = 4.9.  We would round this to 5.
